What better way to share with others by own daily battle and frustrations with COPD/Asthma than by passing on some daily words and thoughts that bring me hope and renewal, because as we all know – without that horizon of hope, our daily renewal of faith and fight can dim in a hurry.
Take, read, meditate and hopefully find some hope to attach to your faith for today – –
The Word – “I cried out to him with my mouth, his praise was on my tongue…..but God has surely listened and heard my voice in prayer” (Psalm 66:17, 19 NIV)
The Thought – For those who know me, when I send someone a message or note I nearly always will finish it out with the three-words ‘prayers and blessings’.
I do so because no matter what the situation, whether it be positive and uplifting, or troubled and depressing – the situation will always be better with prayers/meditations and blessings.
Well aren’t they the same, some may ask.
Yes and no, as prayers or meditations do entail a bit of both – while blessings are plain and simple thanks for all that we have available in our life on that day and at that moment.
For most of us we can normally find quick blessings (or praises) within reach such as family, food on the table, friends, a roof over our head – get the picture of the easy ones. But what about the ones we take for granted like the grass, the trees, the music of the birds chirping, the bees that pollinate our crops, the bugs that equal out our ecosystem, the blue sky, the fluffy clouds, the air we breathe.
Always start your time of prayer or meditations with the praises, the thanks to the Great Spirit for all that is life itself.
Then it is time for the actual prayer part, the time in which you just concentrate on talking one-on-one with the Great Spirit and you. Sharing your concerns and worries while not being afraid to ask for guidance in dealing with those same concerns and worries.
How many have a family member or good friend that we are comfortable in sharing with. One who will listen to us and then be willing to either just have listened and then be silent, or upon request be willing to offer some insight or guidance on what was discussed.
Treat your time of prayer or meditation with the Great Spirit the same way and know that despite not having anything physical to look at, know that the Great Spirit is there – for in time of true prayers or meditation, you can and will feel the presence of the Great Spirit within your heart and soul – giving you hope, faith, love and grace.
The Meditation – Great Spirit, thank you for being a major aid in my daily life and for that, I will work on my blessings for all that I have in life itself, while working on being more comfortable with knowing that you are like a father, mother, brother, sister or best friend for whom I can share all with, while trusting that in the guidance you give, my life will be secure with hope, faith, love and grace.
