Sharing with others daily words, thoughts and meditations that bring myself hope and renewal during my own daily battles and frustrations with COPD/Asthma.  Sharing, because as we all know – without that horizon of hope, our daily renewal of faith and fight can dim in a hurry.

Take, read, meditate and hopefully find some of the same hope in your day as I have within mine…..

The Word – “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of life.”  (Galatians 6:10, NIV)

The Thought – For many of us that fight the battles of chronic illness or disability, we often get so consumed by our own battle and reliance on others to stand with us, that we often forget to take the time to see the true, daily lives of those who stand with us.

As much as we need to have others stand with us, we must also be willing to stand alongside those folks, those caretakers and pay attention to the sacrifices they may be making to battle with us.

One thing you know if you daily relate with the ‘Great Spirit’, is that compassion is a very important part of seeing the four fundamentals of life – hope, faith, love and grace.  And as much compassion others provide to us, we in turn must also return the same to them and others.

Our time, our battles with our chronic illness and/or disability, gives us a very unique view on what compassion really can be and just how important it is in survival within the walk of life.

Whether your most able caretaker is just a friend, a medical person or family like a brother, sister, son, daughter or wife – we must remember to ask, where can I help?  Where can I help them in their walk of life, where can I show them the same compassion they show me, where can I help them continue to find hope, faith, love and grace in their own travels of life.

With the help of the ‘Great Spirits’ guidance, we that fight those daily insecurities and fights with a chronic illness and/or disability, should more than any others realize the true positives involved with working with others with help and compassion.  It is helpful in our own struggles to ‘turn the cheek’ and provide others with that which has been given to us.

By asking often, how and where can I help, we will find that the ‘Great Spirit’ is correct in that compassion and staying humble is a solid step in finding the map that puts hope, faith, love and grace along the road of our life travels.

The Meditation/Prayer – Being made humble is something we seek when talking with you daily, ‘Great Spirit’.  We humble ourselves by saying with heart felt thanksgiving that you continue to surround us with not only the great gift of this place we call earth to survive on, but also for those who participate in our travels in ways of compassion, giving us constant hope for tomorrow.  Let us seek the means to stay so humble and less needy, that we can look at where we can help to return the compassion and hope to others which in turn will fulfill our own walk with much of the four fundamentals of life and happiness – hope, faith, love and grace.

And we all say Hallelujah, Amen.
