Sharing with others daily words, thoughts and meditations that bring myself hope and renewal during my own daily battles and frustrations with COPD/Asthma. Sharing, because as we all know – without that horizon of hope, our daily renewal of faith and fight can dim in a hurry.
Take, read, meditate and hopefully find some of the same hope in your daily battles with a chronic illness and/or disability as I have within mine….
The Word – “Belief is a truth held in the mind, Faith is a fire in the heart.” (Joseph Fort Newton)
The Thought – A lot of folks talk about belief and faith, but how many talk about them in conjunction with each other.
We who fight daily battles with a chronic illness and/or disability, know that both are extremely important for the success of any moves forward, because we have to believe, that the day ahead or even the next few moments will be better than the previous ones and we have to have faith that we can stay a step or two ahead of our battles in order to have a future to look forward to.
We read somewhere once that ‘faith acts on what it believes and acts with confidence’.
If belief in the positive things you have about the ‘Great Spirits’, yourself and those in the tribe around you than you should always have a feel-good attitude and thought in each step of your days ahead.
Now if you have not only that belief, but also have faith that those beliefs will be alive and well in the days ahead, then your display of reactions to each and every step along that road will shine with an immense sense of knowing all will be okay.
Belief comes from those happenings which you can visually see will happen, while faith is also a belief in the things ahead only without the visual signs of it being so.
When we take our daily time to meditate with the ‘Great Spirits’ and actively seek the guidance and wisdom they offer, we will also come to find faith in that which we believe because they fit together like a personal sewn glove.
Of course, number two of the four fundamentals of life and happiness is faith, stuck in there between hope and love, while being ahead of grace.
So, remember that no matter how dark the days may seem to be while battling your chronic illness and/or disability, if you can combine belief in a better tomorrow with faith that it will be better tomorrow – then your travels of the roads ahead will increase drastically in positive, worth living type of moments and memories.
The Meditation/Prayer – As we come to our time of meditation/prayer and find the quiet to visit with you, ‘Great Spirits’, we have faith that you and the friendship which we have spawned will help us find the guidance and wisdom to build on our belief and faith that the next step forward will be better than before. In the same way, we always take time to show our gratitude to you, ‘Great Spirits’, for the world and people you surround us with as our tribe in sharing our walks and battles with traveling with our chronic illness and/or disability. With our time, together we believe and have faith that we will always find the four fundamentals of life and happiness in each and every day. We so appreciate hope, faith, love and grace as being our assets in life.
And we all say Hallelujah, Amen.
