‘NEEDED CHANGES’

By Mr. William

Being disabled due to my battle with COPD and a lingering heart condition, I realize now the best thing about having a regular job for me was the routine.

Routine is what I do best for a work situation, namely a place to be for a particular period of time with no way possible of having the threat of distractions.

I mention this because now my days are on the schedule I make and with the possible distractions of a radio, television and computer handy I can make the most precise schedule and it’s a sure bet that within an hour or, so I am distracted and off schedule.

My work these days is my writing and media ideas, but unfortunately, I have more projects that have started but not finished or have lingered off path than I have projects finished.

I once told my folks that if you took today’s diagnoses of kids in school and put them in the language of my days growing up – pretty sure I would be marked as one with attention deficit disorder.

So, with that knowledge in hand I have put my self on a track to make some, as I see them, much needed changes with regards to my writing.

For one, I need to concentrate once again on my education and reporting of all that entails being in a daily battle with any kind of lung disease that can and will disrupt one of the most precise factors of life itself – breathing!

As most of you who are following my postings know, I have over the past couple of years really fought time periods where I would just not get anything written and posted, despite the encouragement from many who continue to tell me how much they appreciate my writings and miss them when I do a periodic disappearing act of sorts.

What are the changes I am going to make, let’s make a short list:

  1. I am going to concentrate more of my time on the issues dealing with COPD/Asthma and of those chronic illnesses in general that may make a person disabled.
  2. This concentration will include more writes about COPD/Asthma issues themselves and how they affect the lives belonging to those who battle this dreadful disease.
  3. While I will be doing other writing about life, food and my puppy Frosty Lou, I will work on making COPD/Asthma and chronic illnesses my priority.

What this means is that while I will still have the ‘Lenny & Me 4 Today’ postings, as well as my other postings that include the language of chronic illnesses, reflections of COPD/Asthma/Chronic Illness as it pertains to each of us and, when I re-jump start it, the series I did of meditative writes for those with a Chronic Illness.

What this also means is that I will not be taking the extra time every time to post my writes to the many Facebook pages that revolve around COPD/Asthma/Chronic Illnesses. Instead, while I will have periodic sharing, most of my postings will be on the Facebook page titled COPD Travels (the one with the rock that just says breath).

So, from this point on, to follow me on a more regular basis you will have to either bookmark my website wheezingaway.com or follow the Facebook page – COPD Travels. Those will be the two sites where all my writings, information and insights will be found, everything else will be done when and if I have the extra time.

Yes, I know this means many will not follow me as much and that will bother me a bit, it is what I call the cost of doing business and doing it in a way that I will not feel so over extended and can concentrate on more of my projects.

One more thing, watch out for the booklets which I am putting together discussing some major issues and ideas pertaining to COPD/Asthma/Chronic Illness.

And that my friends, is where ‘Lenny’ and Me are 4 today.

As always, if you or anyone you know have any symptoms involving lung and breathing functionality, and they linger over and over while disrupting a lifestyle – then please ask questions and get it checked out.

ALWAYS REMEMBER > A person without good breathing, is a person with a life of constant caution’, so let’s do what we can, to learn what we can, to improve what we can.

With that, I bid to all – smiles, prayers, blessings and steady breathing – Mr. William.
