A weekly reflection of HOPE for those living with chronic illness and/or disability.

(Use by permission from the book “Living Today – 40 Meditations for those with a Chronic Illness,” by Will Dursens)

A VOICE FROM THE WORD

“So do not throw away your confidence, as it will be richly rewarded.” (Hebrews 10: 35 NIV)

WORDS TO THINK ABOUT:

The Great Spirits have planted seeds of success and hope within each of us, each waiting to take root and bring us successes beyond our imagination.

But like a garden in the spring, the seeds will only take hold, sprout, and grow if we see success ahead while knowing the work necessary to help the seeds reach the goals of their full potential.

And that folks means having the vision to see success in yourself or the goal you seeded for.

With that vision of success, one will find the necessary work of watering and weeding in and around those seeds for success that the Great Spirits have planted.

The process of weeding is as important to our own life as it is to do so with any plant we may also be cultivating for success.

We all know that we must see the weeds of emotion, hate, despair, hurting, and pain that will pop up along the road we travel.

It is then we learn to seek the guidance of the Great Spirits on how to battle those weeds of life and properly remove them before they take root in our life and begin to suffocate the hopes, faith, and dreams of future endeavors and successes.

Traveling life can be tough enough, but to travel life with the extra companionship of chronic illness of any type, can and will require us to be alert for some extra weeding possible being necessary.

Much of that alertness will come when we are willing to meditate daily, many times more than just once, so that the Great Spirits can and will help us open up to have the vision of seeing how to best battle the newest weeds that may be working on strangling our future that holds so much faith, hope, love, and grace.

TODAY’S DEVOTION/MEDITATION – the WEEDS OF LIFE:

O Great Spirits, thank you for being a major aid in my life – for being my very best of friends, who is always willing to stand by me when the ‘weeds of life’ creep up and attempt to strangle my day, my week, my month, my future!

I look to you to open my vision with insight as to how best to defeat the weeds of life and bring back into my life the hope, faith, love, and grace that you promise for the future of today and tomorrow.

And we all say – HALLELUJAH, AMEN!!
