THE REST OF MY STORY (or some of it)

By William (for wheezingaway.com)

As promised, I will be keeping everyone posted on how I am doing.

These writes will work out to two for sure – maybe three, times a week as I get back into the writing routine.

        TODAY:

Today, Snaz and I are having a seemingly good day, though the constant changing of weather causes hiccups in my breathing and movement. But for today directly, it is good as I am spending at least five-six hours a day writing about chronic illnesses and myself as well as a small school sports website, a weekly newspaper, and a monthly newspaper. Oh, plus trying to write a couple of books.

Since I have had the opportunity to catch everyone up to why I may not have been writing, here I will share some more about me and what I battle daily. This is some of the rest of my story.

        MY OWN CHRONIC ILLNESSES:

These include both severe Asthma and COPD, plus I have diabetes and heart issues.

These are the ones I take medicine for and see a physician, physician’s assistant, pulmonologist, cardiologist, and endocrinologist.

These are the illnesses for which I take daily meds such as atorvastatin, metformin, lisinopril, furosemide, Jardiance, and montelukast along with a daily shot of insulin, Tresiba as well as either a puff of brestri or the three-concoction liquid brestri with my nebulizer.

I use a nebulizer daily, have a pacemaker, and sleep attached to a cpap machine with oxygen hooked into it.

Oh, by the way, did I mention I am on oxygen as well.

See why my days are so much fun, and traveling is such a breeze.

        MY OTHER ILLNESSES:

Those were the physical illnesses that I have been actually diagnosed with and being treated for.

Now, I also believe I deal with ADD (attention deficit disorder), high anxiety, a bit of depression, fatigue, and procrastination!!

These five are my self-diagnosed illnesses and I refer to them as illnesses because each and every one can and will cause an issue anytime, anywhere, any day!!

        WHAT COMES NEXT:

Over the next few weeks I will keep all updated on how I am doing the day I write the column as well as cover such things as the story behind my being disabled since late 2012, my life long battle with Asthma, my love of food and fighting diabetes, how I deal with the other health issues, as well as other events in my life that led me to where I am today.

These are all written with the idea that maybe I can offer some hope and faith to others that keeping going is something we can all do.

Until next time, I hope all is well and all is well with all.

With that, I bid to all – smiles, prayers, blessings, and steady breathing – SHALOM, William

ALWAYS REMEMBER (because I have COPD and severe Asthma) – If you or anyone you know have any symptoms involving lung and breathing functionality, and they linger over and over while disrupting a lifestyle – then please ask questions and get it checked out.
