Health--Pacemaker  Well the day is nearly upon me and it means I get to deal with another pesky medical procedure.

Tomorrow I go into the hospital to deal a little with my other pesky illness beyond my COPD – my heart, ticker, pumper or whatever you want to call it.

Tomorrow I get to hopefully fix or at least regulate my slow and sometimes very irregular heart rate.

Tomorrow I get to get a pacemaker – yippee.

This may in turn help my COPD, because when I get my heart’s electrical system tuned up then maybe I will have a little less trouble of getting so tired and short on breath so quickly.

They say getting a pacemaker is almost routine anymore, but in my mind anytime you are doing anything with the heart – it should be taken seriously.

Of course when the hospital calls today to check on my personal information ahead of time and ask me that big question, “do you have a living will or a power of attorney”…….that question always makes you stop and think.

As much as everyone tells me it will be just fine, I still feel some anxiousness about the whole idea – even while I am also excited about getting some regulation to the old ticker.

As for all you that may follow my musings once in a while – this also means I will be very silent for at least a couple of days, one because I won’t be back home until later Wednesday afternoon and two because I don’t know how much pain I will be in or how tired I will be.

So until sometime late Wednesday or maybe Thursday morning this is all you get from me, but I will be looking forward to sharing my progress when I get back to a writing routine.

As always I will finish off with the reminder that it is always good to share, because by sharing we all will learn the minimum fact that ‘we are not alone walking this path of COPD’.

As always – if you or anyone you know have any symptoms involving lung and breathing functionality, and they linger over and over while disrupting a lifestyle – then please ask questions and get it checked out.

Remember always that without breathing a person is without life itself.

With that I bid to all – smiles, prayers, blessings and steady breathing – Mr. William.
